At LAASIO we believe jewellery is more than just an accessory. It's a story, a feeling, a memory – worn close to your heart. From that idea our small family business was born in 2021 in Bad Laasphe, Germany, with one clear goal: to create unique, personal jewellery that walks alongside you and your most treasured moments.

Our story – from Beijing to Bad Laasphe

LAASIO was founded by Sophie Hu – a mum of two who moved with her husband from Beijing, China's capital, to Bad Laasphe in the Wittgenstein region in 2015. What started out as a big change soon became a new home – and the birthplace of a vision.

In Beijing, Sophie worked as an HR director at a large company. After the birth of her second child she was looking for a new direction. Instead of returning to a classic office job, she decided to start something of her own:

That's how the LAASIO label came to be in 2021 – a name deliberately inspired by „Laasphe“ as a tribute to our connection with this new home.

🏠 Today: studio on Bahnhofstraße

Today Sophie creates each piece in her studio at Bahnhofstraße 62 in Bad Laasphe – in what used to be an insurance office. With a modern laser engraving machine she preserves her customers' most treasured moments in fine stainless steel. Orders come in through our website or by email – and are wrapped with care in little pouches or gift boxes before they head out into the world.

Our range covers more than 70 personalised pieces – each one unique, made to order:

• Name necklaces – classic and elegant, with your name or that of someone you love
• Birth flower jewellery – necklaces and bracelets featuring the birth flower of every month. The larkspur, for instance, is July's birth flower and a symbol of loyalty. Many customers love bespoke family bouquets made from the birth flowers of their loved ones.
• Photo pendants – engraved photos of people or pets on premium stainless steel
• Fingerprint jewellery – a forever keepsake of someone special
• Paw print pendants – for our furry friends
• Pet portrait jewellery – your pet as a fine piece of jewellery (especially dogs and cats)
• Hand & foot print jewellery – your baby's first traces, captured forever
• Dog nose prints – your four-legged friend's one-of-a-kind nose as a pendant
• Zodiac pendants – astrological symbols in fine stainless steel

You can even have your own drawings, children's artwork or handwritten lines engraved. As Sophie says: „I try to bring every wish to life.“
